Scrappile Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) Our 6 year old grandson came Friday staying until next Saturday, when we take him back. First time he has stayed with us without Mom and Dad. I'm so tired..... Flat worn out! Loving every minute of it, building things in the shop. He supervises my scrolling. I printed a Pokemon something pattern. He wanted it cut out. I did the outside and started doing the lines on the inside of the pattern.... He had a fit, knew Grandpa was going to wreck it!! I kept telling him I knew what I was doing, but no, he didn't trust me!! So the pattern stayed on and he colored it (The one in his right hand). Helped him build an alien(the one on the bench behind him), it actually has screws sticking out at the top, I guess antennas?. Did a second pattern of something I know nothing about. "Beyblade" (in his left hand)?! What is this stuff?? Got a lot of things lined up to keep him busy. Last evening we built a fire and roasted marshmallows (I love that, can't quit once I get started). Tonight we are making homemade ice cream. Went to see "Reptile Man" today. Grandma took him, there were snakes, I don't do snakes! Swimming tomorrow in a pool. So staying busy. Oh, ya we have his dog with us also... Such fun. Edited June 21, 2017 by Scrappile GrampaJim, bobscroll, danny and 4 others 7 Quote

WayneMahler Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 You'll look back on this and wonder where the time went. Your hearts will be overflowing and eyes drooping in a good way of being so tired. You have a great looking grandson. Also great he loves being in the shop with you. danny 1 Quote
wombatie Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 You will need a holiday to get over his holiday. It's awesome being a grandparent isn't it. Marg Quote

I hear you, I went to my other Grandsons high school graduation a couple weeks ago. He is 6' 1" now! My only grand daughter is starting her third year in college.. The two older ones and their mom stayed with us a couple times for 6 or more months each time when their dad was on cruise in the Navy. I was younger then, had more energy...... Quote
meflick Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Paul - excellent work from both of you. So glad he gets that special time with you. Memories he will treasure for sure. Quote
