Mark SW Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Woof Woof (Hello) Today is National Dog Day. A day to celebrate are friends, coworkers, and constant companions, Sometimes I think my Aussie is smarter than I am (he really is) so today take you best friend for a walk in the park or even better in the woods. We are going to PetSmart first because they are having buy one get one on some things then maybe to Wag and Wash for special treats after that who knows. Remember also are fellow Villagers in the southern part of the US and there loved pets as well. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Lucky2 and 125 CSL 2 Quote
dansnow Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 This is our German Shepherd Java. We adopted him from a shelter in 2014 after we had just lost two dogs 6 weeks apart. He's way smarter than us, and knows he has us wrapped completely around his paw. He's our first German Shepherd but definitely won't be our last. Prayers up for those owners and their pets affected by Harvey. Mark SW and 125 CSL 1 1 Quote

Scrappile Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 This is our current dog. We have always had one or two dogs, Several Dobermans and several Airedale Terriers along the way. Abbey is a Standard Poodle. Very intelligent, but can be stubborn. Always fun. She is not a fluff dog, she thinks she is a farm dog. Unfortunately, she is very sick right now, and the vet suspects it is a rare illness similar to lockjaw. We are hoping and praying for the best. This is a picture taken of her when she came in from playing in the snow last winter. She loves the snow. Not so much the heat. Scrolling Steve, Lucky2, Mark SW and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Lucky2 Posted August 27, 2017 Report Posted August 27, 2017 Mark, we don't allow our dogs to be in the woods, there's just to many deer ticks. There's been a few people who have had to put their dogs down, they didn't clean all of the ticks off and the dog got sick. Len Mark SW 1 Quote

Neat dogs. Sorry you lost Angel. Yes they are both Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Had dogs all my life and these two are about the best. Chance was actually a rescue from a puppy mill in Missouri so he came with no social skills or anything else. Took a while and a lot of patience and help from Angel but he is now a full fledged couch potato too :). Lucky2 and Mark SW 1 1 Quote
meflick Posted August 27, 2017 Report Posted August 27, 2017 Beautiful dogs all. Sorry for those who have lost one of their beloved pets. It's hard I know. Here's our Cali girl. She will be 5 in Sept. She is a golden retriever. Her first 3 years, couldn't get her in the water. Now, she always want to swim. She already has back problems so the swimming is good for her, plus helps cool her off. Paul, prayers for your Abbey. wombatie, Lucky2, WayneMahler and 1 other 4 Quote

WayneMahler Posted August 28, 2017 Report Posted August 28, 2017 I think most of us agree. They are not dogs but members of our families. I know I do and would bet next months profits on it. The only thing I will add if they every learned to talk, I would be in deep dodo with the wife. Mark SW, Sparkey and meflick 2 1 Quote

I mean, I love him, but he is the baddest dog Ive ever had or heard of. He seems to take pleasure in disturbing the peaceful way of life I lead. he is smart, but he uses his intelligence to further his plans for global domination. he tries to chase the ghosts of animals. he wants to eat horses. on the other hand, he can throw a ball back into my hands when we're playing. when Im not around he throw the ball against a wall so he can play catch by himself. by the way, the first photo is of a blue eyed Merle Australian sheperd? did you know that led zeppelin wrote a song about that breed? Mark SW Posted August 28, 2017 Author Report Posted August 28, 2017 Scrollin'fool My Aussie doesn't try to eat horses but raccoons are a different story. The Led Zeppelin song that comes to mind is just because of it's title is Black Dog but that's not it. Quote
