wombatie Posted August 31, 2017 Report Posted August 31, 2017 We have all be there I think. I try to remember to back up at least once a week. Sorry for your loss. Marg Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted August 31, 2017 Report Posted August 31, 2017 Ouch !...Sorry to hear that ! Quote
WayneMahler Posted August 31, 2017 Report Posted August 31, 2017 That just plain sucks. I keep an external hard drive on my system with everything backed up on it. I learned the hard way before and experienced the same thing you just went through. They are fairly in-expensive and worth the money for sure. Quote

Sparkey Posted September 2, 2017 Report Posted September 2, 2017 I have been thinking of buying an external hard drive to store things on just for that reason. Quote
Birchbark Posted September 3, 2017 Report Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) I use two computers with a KVM Switch. People have suggested an "external hard drive" I never really understood that. I mean why "external"? I have my old computer, that i use with my KVM switch, and the OLD, Old hard drive installed on this computer. So if anything happens, which it always does. It only infects my C: drive. Not my OLD drive, which in my case is F: drive, and doesn't infect my other computer, (which is my "old computer") with is protected by my KVM Switch. Try it and you'll understand, it is super easy and when you get a new pc you loose zero. Ever. Without buying another hard drive. External or internal. IDK, i read that and it makes no sense to me. lol. I use my old computer as my "external hard drive" and the one before that i install as my second hard drive in my current computer. lol try it Russell The only thing that runs on my C drive is my operating system. That can and does go down. I lose nothing Edited September 3, 2017 by Birchbark clarification Quote
