From the other side of my shop - I finished this over the weekend. The bowl is Black Walnut with a Deco ring made from maple, Padauc and PurpleHeart. The base has a floating disc. Build time on the Deco ring was about 10 hours (not including glue-set time). Then it sat on the bench for about two months while I decided in what kind of bowl to put it.

That is beautiful.. I can appreciate the segmented turning.  A friend of mine is a segmented turner.  He has showed me how he accomplishes some of it.  WOW, it is all complicated and amazing.  And he wants to do one this winter, with me, where somehow we include some of my scrolling.. It is really going to be a great challenge.

Very nice bowl.   Great work!

Sometimes when I see something like these beautiful bowls and vases, I often wish that I would have given those a try a one time or another. Now I have all I can handle, as i continue to get older, but I still enjoy looking at them and admiring the work of others. Absolutely wonderful
