Good Day All!

Hope all has been well! I know I have not been posting has much lately, and for that I apologize.  It was a pretty awesome summer, spent a lot of time with my Grandson, doing Pappy/Grandson stuff.I did have some more surgery on my back, so I was down for a couple months recovering.

I did save up for a few new toys for the workshop, and I am working on an updated shop tour video.

NOW, for the sad news, I was just informed that after 15 years of being dedicated to my employer, I was put on the chopping block.  I can't go into details at this point, so I will leave it here for now.

I am a postive person, and I believe when one door is slammed shut, doors to a better path are open.

I look forward to being back has an active member of the Village community, and hanging out with y'all here on the forums.

Welcome back.  So glad you had an awesome summer and you got to enjoy time and activities with your grandson.  Nothing beats that time together and building memories that will last him a lifetime.  Sorry about your need for more surgery on your back.  Sounds like you recovered well from it and that is good.  Its always great to get new toys err tools so look forward to seeing your updated shop tour.  Sorry to hear that work has found the need to downsize and you were caught in that.  Like you, I am a firm believer that when one door closes, another is opened so I hope that you find that door soon and find that it is indeed to a better path.

Steven, it's great to have you back on the Village, I'm very sorry to read about your job loss.  It's happened to me a few times over the years, and I know that it can be quite depressing. Don't let it get you down, something is bound to show up for a job. This time of the year, is pretty much the worst time of year for this  to happen. Good luck, I hope you find a better job then you had.

If i remember correctly your a ham operator, good time to stir up the radio waves Welcome back friend!

I know the feeling.  After 20 years at the former largest electronic store in the country (now bankrupt again), I guess my tenure bonus got in the way of my boss's bonus and I was let go.  In the following thirty days, 3 more managers with a combined 90+ years of experience either left or were shown the door.   And this happened all across the chain.

Now, with 7 1/2 years in the heavy truck parts business, I think I was in the wrong business to begin with.

You are correct, unfortunately, I had to sell off my Ham Radio, and Shortwave station a few years back, when the wife lost her job and I still have not replaced it.
