wdkits1 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Here are a few pics of my newest intarsia project. This is the picture that I received from a customer who wanted me to design a pattern and a kit of this 1953 Ford F100 pick-up. Quote
wdkits1 Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Here is a photo of the finished pattern in the frame Here are the WIP photos Well so far I have cut ,sanded shaped and fit over 150 pieces from 13 different woods to create this intarsia. I still have more shaping and a few more pieces to cut and then go thru and replace a few pieces that don't fit quite right. Once that is done I will discuss how to glue it all to the backboard and apply the finish. This is the list of woods used--Bush and tree,Blue Mahoe--Bumper, running board,maple--tires,wenge--grill and wheelwells,ebony--truck body, pau amerillo--grass,poplar--fence,cherry--treetrunk,fishtail oak--truck seat and windmill,walnut--headlights,holly--barn roof,bloodwood--road,mahogany--sky,tulipwood bobscroll 1 Quote
