Just a reminder that political discussions are not allowed on SSV.  Talking politics is the quickest way to ruin friendships that we strived so hard to create.  This also includes political jokes.  I know it's hard not to joke in the current political climate (because if you can't laugh, you'd cry).  But, what's really funny to one person is deeply insulting to the next.  So let's steer clear of that.

This also applies to religious discussions.  You can read the User Guidelines linked on the bottom of each page.  You can also find it here.

Also, love your Mark Twain quote. A favorite of mine. And I stole the quote for my personal e-mail account.

In my previous jobs I had to deal with the press/media since 1971. I can't remember a single time when I was quoted accurately. Never!!!!

I finally refused to deal with the scumbags. Later I learned they almost always had their own agenda to promote. Or that of their employer.

Accurate news reporting with the facts was a rarity. Still is.

Once I was unknowingly "set-up" by a Congressman to promote a client of his in the media. I just wanted to puke when I learned the details.

That was the straw that broke this camel's back! Never talked to the media again.

I just can't trust ANY story I read/hear in the media these days. No exceptions! Everyone must keep their filters on!

I don't know how many of friends I have to "unfollow" on Facebook because of our contrasting political views.  This is one of the reasons I really like Scroll Saw Village, no politics.
