Spiderman hand carved w/ router

I always carve a piece that im working on a scrollsaw pattern for.  It helps me visualize what I need to change for the pattern.  In this case, I just went with the carving, and did not continue with the scroll saw pattern.  I do not use a cnc when I carve, just a slightly modified hand held bosch colt.

 

This was my brothers Christmas present.

I used a hole saw and removed the back side of the housing to allow more light in and debris out.  I also added a wide base with knobs on the outside edge for better control.

Great job. What kind of bit did you use? And what was the stock and size of the project?

Can you tell me about the router bit that you use? I have students who wanted to carve things using the router but the bits I usually have don't make it easy to get detail.
