philipcollier Posted July 2, 2018 Report Posted July 2, 2018 I always carve a piece that im working on a scrollsaw pattern for. It helps me visualize what I need to change for the pattern. In this case, I just went with the carving, and did not continue with the scroll saw pattern. I do not use a cnc when I carve, just a slightly modified hand held bosch colt. This was my brothers Christmas present. GPscroller, Jim Finn, RabidAlien and 5 others 8 Quote
amazingkevin Posted July 2, 2018 Report Posted July 2, 2018 Perfect work, very detailed ..Lets see the colt mod. Quote
philipcollier Posted July 2, 2018 Author Report Posted July 2, 2018 I used a hole saw and removed the back side of the housing to allow more light in and debris out. I also added a wide base with knobs on the outside edge for better control. RabidAlien, Phantom Scroller, oldhudson and 1 other 4 Quote
Rockytime Posted July 4, 2018 Report Posted July 4, 2018 Wow, I can't imagine doing that. Remarkable. Quote
oldhudson Posted July 4, 2018 Report Posted July 4, 2018 Great job. What kind of bit did you use? And what was the stock and size of the project? Quote
MrsN Posted July 15, 2018 Report Posted July 15, 2018 Can you tell me about the router bit that you use? I have students who wanted to carve things using the router but the bits I usually have don't make it easy to get detail. Quote
bradnjackie Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 I'll second that "WOW". Beautiful job! Quote
