Popular Post RabidAlien Posted August 20, 2018 Popular Post Report Posted August 20, 2018 Wife wanted to buy something from Etsy as a little table in our entryway. I'd been thinking about making one of these guys for a while. Had some random reclaimed wood of some sort laying around, so why not? Original build instructions by Shara at https://www.woodshopdiaries.com/twisty-table/ A few sheetrock screws in the base tightened and straightened things up a bit. Still not perfectly level, but hey, I got to make (a bunch of) sawdust and avoid a pricey Etsy bill. GrampaJim, New Guy, meflick and 8 others 10 1 Quote

No pattern posted on the blog (linked in original post), but a decent enough explanation of the steps that I was able to trip my way through it. LOL She said she had plans she would pass along if you emailed her, but I haven't yet. Quote
innar20 Posted August 20, 2018 Report Posted August 20, 2018 (edited) Nice work! Wery nice. You can always buy things ... but self made is 100 times better! The twisted corner - 45 degrees angle or just strait cut? And i probably will not cut so sharp endpoints. The little emty spot there ... i think it will by nicer if the endpoint is the thikness of the material. But ... just maybe i thinking so ... Edited August 20, 2018 by innar20 RabidAlien 1 Quote

Yep, I really need to sit down and figure out SketchUp, having a drawing with dimensions would definitely help out here. Lessons-Learned and all that, would be to trim off the tips of the point. Waiting to electrician finish his work in my "shop" to try make one to myself. I made the top and bottom by measuring the width of the boards, and cutting the length the same. I think that was one of my problems, though, as the vertical-ish portions are hitting each other enough to throw off the "rotation". My next one (there will be another!), I'm thinking of adding a 1/2 inch to the top/bottom pieces, that should separate the two out enough. I also plan on lopping enough of the pointy-parts off so that everything is flush. I'm thinking that some of this might be easier to accomplish with a miter saw, which I do not own.....yet..... bradnjackie 1 Quote
bradnjackie Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 Great job, I really like it. May have to try one with my oak pallet wood. Quote
