Created a backward price structure that worked for a garage sale. Something to think about if you ever use it. We priced everything and posted a large chart. 7am 100%,      8am 10% off,       9am 20% off,      10am 30% off,     11am  40% off,   12 50%off,     1pm  60% off,

2pm 70& off  3pm 80% off 4pm 90% off  5pm everything given away.  If they saw what they wanted and they thought it was too expensive, then come back at the time you think its the price you want. BUT SOMEONE ELSE MAY BUY IT BEFORE!  When I told people this many bought what they wanted right then before someone else bought it. A modified chart could work to sell and not give it away. RJF

I have had sales and if I wanted $20 for something I would make a tag  with $25 on it and scrach it out and put $20 under it.   Works every time.

Gosh if that the way it works, I'm bringing a pen to the store, scratching out the price and putting what I want to pay. RJF

I know location is key to what one will pay.. Also what you want to make is another key to pricing...

For me to put that online on my site.. I'd price it at $30+ $8 shipping.. I do charge more than most because I don't work for free.. even if it is a hobby.. Only time I do free work is for friends and family or sometimes for a smile..

You've got quite a lot of time in that.. ? looks like maybe poplar and then stained? Poplar is cheap wood but staining takes time.. over just dipping in a oil.. While the cutting might not take a lot of time... you have pieces that are glued.. I'm betting at least 1 hour start to finish counting prep work, sanding gluing, staining etc etc.. What you want to make an hour? after expenses.. Just my 2 cents.. but.. $15 seems like giving it away..

At the end of the day.. you are the one that has to be happy with what you make.. give them away if all you want to do is make stuff or make enough to cover cost..Think about total cost though.. not just wood materiel.. but looks like you have sawblade, glue, stain, sandpaper, stain rags / towels, router bit wear, scroll saw or bandaw wear etc etc.. electric.. lights don't last forever either.. just sayin.. I think $15 is giving it away.. But like I said price it where you need it to be not what I or anyone else says.. I've learned that pricing things too cheap is also bad looking on your work...just as pricing too high.. in either case.. someone will say it's cheap or high priced.. That's why I say price things where you need it to be..

For me if a piece doesn't sell at my lowest asking price.. I'll never make that piece again and I'll just donate it to a charity or a goodwill store make sure I write my web address on it. maybe whoever gets it from there will look me up.. or even shoppers at the goodwill will see it and look.. lots or curious people that'll look it up.. maybe they'll see something they want..

I tried that once.. doesn't work.. easier to get the department manager and find out what the best deal he can do is.. many store managers will deal with you if you ask.. they all want your business.. Have I ever mentioned that my wife doesn't like to go shopping with me... Guess I like to bargain at the grocery store too.. Though she does get amazed at how I get things so much cheaper than the price tag says.. If a store runs a sale... they are still making money off the item.. I can typically get things at the lowest sale price i had seen.. even if the sale is over... just talk to the manager, LOL Most people just don't try to haggle a price.. on sale last week for X amount but regular price this week.. ask if they can take that sale price.. sometimes they won't go to that lowest sale price but they almost always get you a better deal then the sticker price..
