This is a craftsman who has sharpening stones that are grit-rated in the thousands, and who knows EXACTLY what each blade and chisel is capable of. 

 

I love how he uses a finger from the steadying hand for the precision cuts to finish out a section. Initial cut or two are done one-handed, then when he gets to the end of a section or the final cut, he applies just a tad bit of pressure with the opposite hand to finish the cut and not gouge into the remaining wood.

 

All that said....I bet this guy's got a grip like the Jaws of Life.
