In the U.S.A., we really are the retards.  Not smart enough to switch completely over to the metric system.  

For the first 50 years of my life, my brother and I & the 2 wives had an agribusiness corporation.  If we went to the grain elevator in town to buy grain for our livestock, it was weighed in pounds.  That number was divided by the bushel weight (56 pounds for corn), because grain is priced by the bushel.  At home, we measured it in pounds to mix in a ration.  WHY THE H_____ DO WE STILL CONVERT TO BUSHELS ???????????

They convert to bushels so they can still make and keep selling, bushel baskets with the wire handles that hurt like **** every time you have a heavy basket to carry. RJF
