danny Posted August 29, 2019 Report Posted August 29, 2019 Always been a bit of a problem with the PC Chair and the Mat. What do you use on a Carpet in order for the PC Chair to be able to move around easily? For My Wife.... Doesn't want any Wood. Thanks for any Reply s..............Danny :+} Oh Yea.... Did investigate and Thick carpet Mats are Expensive. Quote
meflick Posted August 29, 2019 Report Posted August 29, 2019 Check your local office supply stores. They sell mats that sit on carpet at a desk area for a chair to be able to roll better. I have also seen them before at Costco and Sam’s Club in the past. The “thicker” or “denser” the plastic used, the more expensive they are. Here is a link to Office Depot’s site where they seem to have a good variety in various price ranges. https://www.officedepot.com/catalog/search.do?Ntt=desk chair mat&cmsearch=chair mat|keyword matches|desk chair mat&predict=true&cmPredSearchABTestElemId=Search Suggestions&cmPredSearchABTestElemCategory=Predictive Search Complete|No monetate test running&cmPredSearchABTestAttr30=Search Suggestions||Category Search|||&cmPredSearchABTestAttr31=Chair mat Quote
teachnlearn Posted August 30, 2019 Report Posted August 30, 2019 We got a chair mat for one apartment which has thick carpet. We keep moving around with it and have yet to use it again. RJF danny 1 Quote

RabidAlien Posted August 31, 2019 Report Posted August 31, 2019 The thicker the carpet you have, the thicker the mat you'll need (plusher carpet has more give under the wheels, the mat will flex more and crack easier). The cheap studded mats are pretty much only good for the carpet-tile stuff you see in stores. If you want a good mat, you'll have to pay for it. They do make office chairs now that have wheels designed to roll around on carpet without a mat. Again, usually a little bit pricier, but worth it in the long run (more features/adjustable parts, better padding, etc). Quote
danny Posted August 31, 2019 Author Report Posted August 31, 2019 Want to say a Big Thank You to Everyone. My Friend from Leander, Texas you led me to Investigate and I did decide to give another company a try. Cost was reasonable and what I bought was 5 casters with 3 inch wheels. Said to support 500lbs. And will roll on Carpet. Now I wait and will give them a Good Test. Report back later.......................Danny :+} RabidAlien 1 Quote
crupiea Posted September 14, 2019 Report Posted September 14, 2019 I worked at home for a couple years and had one of those plastic things for a while. I would routinely trip over it so finally just chopped it up and used it for various scroll saw project. Just go with the carpet. For mine I do have a circle there from the chair but that was after like 2 years of the chair being in one place and you really cant see it unless you really look. Quote
