teachnlearn Posted October 28, 2019 Report Posted October 28, 2019 Call glass shops, like toughs for replacement windows. They will have stock or can order and cut any size. Hardware stores and home improvement stores usually have some, some can cut it, others your hauling home and cutting it. RJF OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Woodmaster1 Posted October 28, 2019 Report Posted October 28, 2019 My local hardware store has it and sometimes you can get the scrap pieces for free since somebody paid for the whole piece. I use to have a endless supply from one of my daughters friends dad, but he no longer works at the display makers factory. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
OCtoolguy Posted October 28, 2019 Report Posted October 28, 2019 I bought Lexan at Lowe's and they would cut it for me. I used it to make screen door covers for RVs so we could leave our main door open and still get sunlight without the breeze/wind. Quote
Wilson142 Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 My step father used to cut it a lot. He lived in a very small town ,so I assume it is readily available. I remember looking at his saw and telling him his blade was upside down. He said that was how he cut plastic. Quote
jerrye Posted October 29, 2019 Report Posted October 29, 2019 Slight thread hijack upcoming.... Believe it or not, the best tool I have found for effective, fast, clean straight cuts in poly sheeting is this saw. Cut at a low angle, about 25 degrees or so from horizontal, it cuts fast and is easy to stay on a line. It's very useful for other substrates as well, like wood... Quote
CharleyL Posted October 31, 2019 Report Posted October 31, 2019 Look for a plastics supply near you. We have Piedmont Plastics. https://www.piedmontplastics.com/locations/charlotte Charley Quote

Denny Knappen Posted October 31, 2019 Report Posted October 31, 2019 Check with your local frame shop. We (ArtCrafters) always have framing quality pieces, leftovers from larger projects. You can also cut to size on the scroll saw. Quote
munzieb Posted November 1, 2019 Report Posted November 1, 2019 I've used these guys several times. I've made lots of lamps using their amber 1/8" plexi-glass. Both sides are paper adhesive and are great for marking. I use a 70 tooth blade on my table saw and it cuts like butter but makes a lot of dust. Cuts great on the scroll saw too. https://www.ebay.com/str/popdisplays. Quote
