meflick Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Marge - wish I could help but I have never made Gumbo. Its a bit more of a deeper "southern "thang"" then here in TN. When I think of gumbo - I think Louisiana. I did find this information on Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gumbo from what I know - "Gumbo" can be made in a variety of ways with different ingredients. There's not really any "correct" way to make it, everyone has their own family recipe with their own personal twist based on personal likes/dislikes. We watch CSI New Orleans and they are always making Gumbo and my hubby said that we should find out whats in it and make it one night but seeing that he's not a sea food lover I guess that's not going to happen in a hurry.
