Popular Post Scrappile Posted November 29, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted November 29, 2019 I was looking a Christmas patterns I have stored and came across a 3D cut of Mr and Mrs Claus, by Diana Thompson. Looked like it would be a fun project because I enjoy doing the 3D cuts. I did modify Mr. Clause some because he was a pretty skinny santa with a short beard. I modified the pattern to try to give him more beard and more belly. Not very successful with the beard, but it you squint your eyes and cross your toes, you might be able to picture it. I had to modify the patten for the arms a little also, following the pattern I could not get the hand coming out the middle of the sleeve. Finally figured out what to change after four tries. So I cut 8 arm to get the four I needed. I had my fun, it was a bit of a challenge and painting something like this is a real challenge for shaky hands me, but well not worth the effort and I would not do them again.... crupiea, John B, davidg and 7 others 9 1 Quote

I have always thought a jig to hold them while cutting was unnecessary. Cutting the little arms, one these, was killing me, I was beating my fingers to death, breaking blades because I could not always hold and it the little pieces were getting away from me. So I took a hour or so and made a jig. Made all the difference in the world. Wish I had done it a long time ago. This is fashioned after the jig Steve Good had on his blog.
