Picture To Pattern Please

My daughters boyfriend grandpa past recently and she asked me if I could make a portrait of him to give out to the family.. Her and I tried making a pattern tonight for a couple hours.. guess we suck at it cause we couldn't come up with anything that looked like a person, LOL 

We was able to crop the background out.. so hoping that helps out for anyone that can give this a try.

Thank you for giving it a shot.. I do agree.. the grey just makes the pattern get lost in a bunch of white.. My daughter and i fooled around trying to get a pattern the other night for 2-3 hours.. I hate doing grey hair / beards and anyone with glasses seem to mess me up too..

Okay so first I want to say thanks to you all for making the patterns. Daughter wasn’t very clear on what  she wanted and was wanting a carved picture. So I did end up using the pattern from Phantom Scroller. I have no idea how I got the pattern to work on the CNC but I did it somehow. Lol  I know it’s not a scroll sawn project but I always promise to show my work. 
 

They love it, and now want it a portrait from the scroll saw so I will be making use of the pattern for the scroll saw as well so all your work wasn’t waisted on a CNC project. That said it’s probably going to be a month or two before I get to cutting the patterns on the scroll saw.  Meanwhile here is the picture I carved on the CNC. This was sized down to cut out on about 6” wide by around 10” high if I remember right. 
 

Again thank you all, and once cut on the scroll saw I’ll show my work again. Probably maybe cut a different pattern for the scrolled project.

Well, I just got word that the rest of the family seen this and want the portraits made on the scroll saw... so I may be doing them sooner than I first said earlier.. They are getting me a count of who wants one and how many I need to make..

I think this is the best part of this hobby.  Making things that is special and meaningful to others. Great job on all the patterns!!

Neat carve if I'd known it was to carve on CNC I would have cleaned it up more and did a 3d model still as long as they are happy thanks for showing the carve. Roly

At the time I asked for a pattern.. it wasn't known that it was to be carved..  Otherwise I'd have asked for the file on the CNC group.... Though it looks as though it's going to also be scroll sawn too..
