This question has probably beeen asked before but I couldn't find an answer when I searched. Anyway I need to drill holes smaller than the 1/16 drill bit and I would like to use my dremel drill press, is this possible? I found smaller drill bits online but they do not stay in the press, how do you use them? The wood I'm drilling is about 1" thick if that matters

To reiterate what Bill wrote: Dremel uses two systems; a collet system (With four collets for different diameter bits), and a three jawed chuck (like a drill chuck). The three jawed chuck adjustes back and forth for different sizes quite easily but is more expensive, if you are using different sized bits on a frequent basis this is the one you want, If you are using just one size then the proper collet is less expensive.

There are also chuck adapters which fit into the drill press chuck to hold micro bits.  Also we, ArtCrafters, sell micro bits.

If you move to a drill press, then look for a "pin vise". Mine has a hex shank and does not slip. :)
