JimErn Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 Since I am usually late to the party, this is probably old news to most RabidAlien, wombatie and jollyred 1 1 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted January 18, 2020 Report Posted January 18, 2020 I have seen that before and my head was spinning after watching. Quote
Puzzleguy Posted January 19, 2020 Report Posted January 19, 2020 (edited) Companies like Delta have been owned by so many different companies it makes your head spin -when you talk about them you almost have to put the owning company after the name - for example Delta Rockwell . Ive tried in my shop to keep american made machines a priority - with the feeling that parts were easier at one time to find ( and to help the economy and jobs )- use to be with Delta they made a promise that they would have parts for so many years after a machine was made - but that went into the toilet when they were sold time and time again - When my sanders Safety on/off switch died ( when it was like 7-8 yrs old ) Delta basically told me sorry Pal ! - so I contacted Grizzly ( true story ) and they told me theirs basically is a Delta switch- think it was like 8 bucks from grizzly ( the delta would of been like 30-40 bucks if they had one ) and the Grizzly was a perfect fit -- makes you rethink - even thou I wish it wasn't true . This is true and when I started outfitting my shop over 40 years ago I tried to use all Delta machinery and American made and did so. All are still running strong. Had to replace a switch or 2 but that is no big deal. They were the standard in the industry and you are right they have been bought up and mixed in with so many other companies now it is hard to keep track of who makes what. Quote

Yup, I have an American made Delta Unisaw and 6” jointer. Have never had any trouble with either of them. Quote
