  1. My suggestion : The powder from Shell -is extemely harmfull - my suggestion -DONT CUT SHELL I use to use a N95 - but no way in hockey sticks would i ever do it again - life is short !
  2. A couple of things I can tell when its dogs out - when it starts to fight me - and i look at the teeth of a blade , if they start getting bluish or discolored ( just where it cuts ) its worn out
  3. kinda like buying a truck , but the TRUCKS probably 40+ grand the saw is 4-5 hundred , and maybe lasts longer - in the long run
  4. Impossible to make everything 100 percent safe - consider doing your best and carry insurance - and dont run with sharp objects !
  5. even if you use a pattern , every puzzle will be different unless your a machine -
  6. When we first moved to where we are now , I had alot of problems with my polymax - it shook like crazy , i tried making a large square work bench thinking it might work , it didnt - I tried a recycled rubber mat ( about a 1 1/2' thick - didnt work - So i took a view point of doing it right so i cut a area out of my floor ( between joists ) used the iron rebars , crossed them , wired them together - and had a concrete pad poured - made it big enough for three saws - and it is great . Not a cheap solution - but a commercial solution
  7. If i offended you - I am sorry !
  8. All well and good , but it feels like a mom and pop business situation that goes aray - sometimes going fancy can hurt you more than help - we just use a sharpie on the back - with the copyright date and our names . I feel that when i get fancy i will loose myself trying to be fancy . Thou we know someone who makes alot of train whistles and has to do this ( he sells to stores as well ) That laser engraver is neat - but ill keep my money in the bank.
  9. Welcome tony to the forum ! a nice group of folks here -
  10. I bought a very small piece from home depot ( Miss the baltic birch ) it had a very rough exterior on one side - thou it said birch and Im not convinced it is - like alot of things from china - buyer beware ! Alot of things coming from china are scams and fake - i try and stay away from anything from china . Im having a problem getting lawnmower parts from china - Kohler went to china and i have a lawn mower and it needed a gas pump -Ive gone threw 3 of them in less than a year . Im looking for a new lawn mower without a crappy chinese motor ( like Kohler - and have heard Briggs and stratton has gone this route .
  11. I just decided how high i wanted it and just cut the legs off of my Polymax's stand didn't take me 1/2 hour to cut the three legs ( used a square to keep them square )- i popped the inserts out the cut offs and popped them into the stand -easy peasie ( i have another heavy duty stand for a polymax if i ever want to go back to the high stand ) ( But i wont )
  12. Yes I've used them quite a bit as well as Olsen and Pegas . some saws like one blade over another -especially my Eclipse saws ( they are so finicky )
  13. Id check about wether its a good idea to use corian or not - some materials are not food safe etc. plus you will need a better than average mask - at least a N-95 for your own health - maybe better if you use wood -
  14. Ray i bought this to sand puzzles - but when you have pieces inside of something big , it tends to suck the small pieces out ( unless you put adhesive on the back side -or tape ) it works fine and these big units are pricey -to bad your all the way across the country ( im in NY state ) I paid 800 for it and want something close to that - these are about 2500 or more new . But i dont want to ship this monster - its a pick up sale only - i have the original stand but the previous owner built a solid wood base which makes it more stable - Tony
  15. Been doing this as well - but those hand sanders can make your hands numb (if you do this for a while ) I actually have a professional performax face sander Im selling !
