wombatie Posted May 13, 2020 Report Posted May 13, 2020 Our lock down started to ease at midnight so I get to see my eldest daughter and her partner tonight for the first time since the end of February. We have video chatted but it's not the same. We are allowed to have 5 visitors at home now and some contactless sports can resume. Some school classes resume in a couple of weeks and all the others start back at the first week of June. Marg RabidAlien, Scrolling Steve, amazingkevin and 2 others 5 Quote

jerry1939 Posted May 13, 2020 Report Posted May 13, 2020 In Iowa (USA), hair salons & some other things open on the 15th, but we will sit back and see how that plays out. The number of cases is still going up here. jerry amazingkevin 1 Quote
Puzzleguy Posted May 14, 2020 Report Posted May 14, 2020 You and your family are in my prayers - I havent seen my son in many months - but i know hes safe - which is my first concern - so were putting it off to keep everyone safe. Please be careful and take every precaution -everyone here is like family to me ! Quote
amazingkevin Posted May 14, 2020 Report Posted May 14, 2020 I was looking forward to lock down for a year myself. Nothing changed for me and it,s a lot quieter now! At least you have somewhere to go and visit! Quote
John B Posted May 22, 2020 Report Posted May 22, 2020 Happy for you Marg. It has sure been a testing time. We still have some regions locked down in WA and unfortunately the Goldfields is isolated from Perth still. Can't wait until I can get to the big smoke and see Dad. He is 84 and lives by himself. Mu Sisters have been great, but (there is always a but) they are both nurses, so are afraid to get to close. My eldest sister does shopping for him and they chat through the flywire door. She leaves the stuff on the veranda for him. Stay safe wombatie 1 Quote

Maybe because we closed our borders and no incoming from other countries so quickly but too many people are completely ignoring the rules now and when it flares up again and we are back to where we started they are going to wonder why. I send my regards and thanks to your sisters John, it is a hard job they are doing. I hope you get to see your dad soon. Marg John B 1 Quote
John B Posted May 23, 2020 Report Posted May 23, 2020 @wombatie I agree Marg, to many thinking of themselves or just not thinking. We only had a few cases in Kalgoorlie, most from a road gang from Perth. None at the moment and none for awhile now. It was rather eerie with the main street shut and bugger all cars about. Traffic is back to normal, but a lot of the cafes and coffee shops are still closed I think some may be closed for good sadly. Every cloud has a silver lining and mine was going to Bunnings at 7am and almost having the whole shop to myself. Take care Karl S and wombatie 2 Quote
