Rockytime Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 You cut that very well. I have spiral blades but lack the courage to try them. You're a brave lady! barb.j.enders 1 Quote
don watson Posted June 8, 2020 Report Posted June 8, 2020 Shame about the blowout. I have just finished a pattern that used a lot of #0 spiral blades and there were times when the ply gave up a sharp corner or a thin island. I am convinced it was the quality of the ply, it was only 1/8" and 3 ply and with my smallest spiral, #0, it was too aggressive. I will try some comparison with 1/4" baltic birch when I get some. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
spirithorse Posted June 26, 2020 Report Posted June 26, 2020 Very, very nice, Barb! Those blow-outs were just modifications to the pattern and no-one will know but you! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse danny and barb.j.enders 2 Quote
Dragonkort Posted July 1, 2020 Report Posted July 1, 2020 yes it looks great!! i could not tell where your blow out was so as spirithorse said nobody knows but you ... i also like the dogs and now im off to MY wood shop!! i have really small drill bits to put in my drill and really small blads to put in my saw so i can FINALLY get started on my wizzard picture...wish me luck!!! barb.j.enders 1 Quote
CATRK Posted July 2, 2020 Report Posted July 2, 2020 On those tight spots try going down to a 2/0 spiral, and slow down your movement let the blade 'flow'. The #3 spirals are pretty thick, especially compared to a flat blade. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
barb.j.enders Posted August 26, 2020 Author Report Posted August 26, 2020 Well, I have finnaly finished. Actually finished at least a month ago, but just got them into frames. A few more blow outs! Not displeased with the results. Still has more fuzzies than I would like but I didn't want to spend anymore time sanding. For those that burn them off, can you do a short video??? danny, meflick and Frank Pellow 3 Quote
