24 hours? NE! Posted June 10, 2020 Report Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) First of all, I have reduced this picture's size so that it can fit on this forum. The original picture I have is 9 MB. What I'm looking for is a bit of advice or opinions. Is this doable as a pattern? What I had originally wanted as a large and detailed pattern, I now am more limited on time and don't have the interest in making it a huge project. This is my current church of which I'm a pastor and wanted to put a piece of artwork up in the library. I'm looking for a finished piece of around 12-15" wide (or so). I want it to look recognizable as our church with the addition - I don't want the logo in the upper right. I can't visualize what a silhouette (with or without shadows) would look like. I'm more of an editor than a creator. If this is possible, let me know. If it looks like something you would be willing to undertake, let me know. I'll have to find a way to put up the original file to work from. ChurchWithAddition - small.bmp Edited June 10, 2020 by 24 hours? NE! forgot to add picture Quote
CATRK Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 I ran the picture through a couple of filters and came up with this. Obviously no where near ready to cut, but it will give you an idea of the silhouette. From here you could make it as detailed as you want or simplify it. Let me know and i'd be glad to help you out. 24 hours? NE! Posted June 11, 2020 Author Report Posted June 11, 2020 WOW! That is exactly what I was thinking in my mind's eye when I first wanted to start this project - and you did it with the small file. I'd be interested in what you would do with the larger file that I have. That looks so good that I might still consider doing it that way and just have to set the completion date further in the future. I'm also wondering about how you attached such a large file here. 24 hours? NE! Posted June 11, 2020 Author Report Posted June 11, 2020 I was expecting a 2MB limit on file size. So here is the largest file of this picture that I have. I sent you a PM. ChurchWithAddition.bmp Quote
heppnerguy Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 I am not much of a pattern maker but I have done several patterns in the past.. I saw what you posted and thought I would learn something by giving it a shot. I do not know how much detail you are after so what i am doing may not be enough to serve your wants and I do not want to take a long time on something that is not even close to what you are after. So I thought at this point I would stop and let you decide if this might be close to what you are after. I believe it will be entirely cutable . If you think I am way out from what you are looking for, please let me know, I understand and would not be insulted at all. I just thought I would try and help you obtain one you can cut. I will be happy to continue working on it, if you think you might like to possibly give it a shot. Mainly I am making it a rather easy pattern to cut as I am not good enough to do a lot of detail. heppnerguy Posted June 13, 2020 Report Posted June 13, 2020 Okeh I never heard from you about this pattern so I went ahead and tried to make one that was cutable for you. The photo was not very clear and difficult for me to make but so I kept it simple and just did the church itself without the shrubbery/ I found the entrance to be the most difficult to see and make a copy of it but I think you may find it will perhaps work for you ..Good luck, if you decide to cut it. CATRK Posted June 14, 2020 Report Posted June 14, 2020 I gave it my best. You may not want to cur all that brick. Good Luck heppnerguy and Dave Monk 2 Quote
24 hours? NE! Posted June 15, 2020 Author Report Posted June 15, 2020 Thanks, guys! I've been fairly busy and engaged with church work so I haven't been able to get on. I like what both of you have done! In fact, having the simpler pattern is good to see. I appreciate all the work. I'll will post any pictures of a completed project. Thank you so much! Quote
