My name's Dave. I've been scrolling for a couple of years. A neighbor of mine lent me an old Craftsman scroll saw to try scrolling. I thought I might like it as I had seen some scroll work and Intarsia. Very soon I found I liked the scrolling and bought a DeWalt scroll saw. Nice machine!!

Early on I found some patterns I liked but the detail & accuracy were lacking. So I copied the pattern into my computer and using a program called Microsoft Visio, redrew the pattern. I was pleased with the outcome. I can print them on my laser printer and make all the copies I need.

I've done a nativity scene with 3 panels of about 5.5" x 10" each that have turned out real nice. Have made several for friends and family. I like 1/4" oak for these panels as it makes a very rich result.

I need to join the Utah Scrollsaw Club to learn more from others. I'm also friends with Tom Sevy and that helped a lot in getting serious about scrolling. He's my "expert" when I have questions.

Looking forward to making more sawdust!
