Dust Extraction for the financially challenged.

i have a situation where i use a scroll saw indoors due to financial and weather reasons. I live in a very humid area in the swampy area of the SE coast. so working with woods in the garage is not feasible because i cant control the humidity in the garage. in fact i store my thin woods inside the house to prevent mold and warping. I also use the scroll saw and other tools like the rotary tool inside in my hobby area.
I have vacuums to hook up to the saw, but i have noticed that i rarely spend less than an hour at any given time while using the saw. And none of my vacuums are really designed to run continuously like that.
So any advice?
What can i look for with regard a dust extraction or vacuum solution that is both affordable, compact and quiet and can run continually while i work?
I know there are a lot of great solutions out there but i am limited by a very very small, regulated budget.

Tape a high efficient filter to a box fan to help clean air. Clean shop will first time since fan will blow dust. Get a Auto switch  to hook to your scroll saw and shop vac. Its very doubtful your running your scroll saw continuously. Every time the saw is off the vac turns off. There are a variety of the auto switches out there. Some of the folks on the board probably own various types and can comments. RJF

I have a foot switch to run my scroll saw.. got a three way plug and plug the foot switch into the power outlet.. then plug the three way plug to that.. then the saw and vacuum plug into the three way plug.. Hit the foot peddle switch and both vac and saw come on.. 

The 20 inch box fan right next to the saw.. preferably on the side in which your saw blows the sawdust toward.. and get a allergy type furnace filter to put at the back of the fan and you'll be amazed at how much of that fine dust gets sucked into that filter.. take the filter outside and tap the it to clean off some of the dust build up from it..

Yes I agree I had a ,3'x3'x6' tall area to work in and I made a box with the scroll saw in it And top and 2 sides had 20" fans with pleated paper filters 20" there was no dust in the room at all!!!

Engineers are taught KISS, Keep It Simple, Stupid. Jumped off with a auto switch and a simple adapter is a cheap answer, DUH. RJF

'Just watch extension wire gauge if you use extensions, you will pull more current.'

Have a look at this.
I think the Dewalt came out best in my view as being efficient and quiet, or at least the quietest.
