amazingkevin Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 One of the best tiki's I have ever seen .Very expressive. Brings a smile to my face. When I made tike's from palm tree trunks girls would ask what the meaning of this piece is .Like God of love or good luck. I wanted to lie to them for fun but never did!!! Dave Monk 1 Quote

jvbscroller Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Very well done! You have several different colors. Is all that color from different kinds of wood or did you use dye? Dave Monk 1 Quote

As you know, Dave, I saw this on another site and commented about when I was in my shop, just last week, I was wondering to myself, why you had never tried intarsia, then i saw this piece..I knew if you were to do one, you would right away be really good at it because your work is always amazing. Nothing mediocre about anything you ever do. Fabulous project Dick heppnerguy Quote

Dave, you have exceeded in your adventure with the scroll saw and left a lot of us in your dust. I never was able to buy the exotic woods that make intarsia such a great medium and I have always struggled when it came to gluing them up. I can cut them without error and happy with the results but when I start my glue up, pieces just are not kind to me and never seem to fit as they should. I am not sure why I have this problem but it has plagued me on almost every piece I have tried to make. You have such a great talent and skill and I have been watching from day one and I have yet to see something that could use some changes or do overs. Dick heppnerguy Quote
