Here is what I hope to work on over the winter! Both are mandalas.  One is 7 layers.  The other is 6.  Patterns are now all glued up!  That was pretty nerve wracking!!!  Plan is to stack cut at least 3 layers of 1/8" bb ply.  Might do 4.  Some thoughts have been to stain the wood first.  I realize that the edges wouldn't be coloured agter cutting but it is only 1/8 thick.  Hope to start soon.

It looks a great project but I thought the layers would all be different shapes ??

I have been working on a multi layered piece and the layers are all different, the only reason I would cut 3 or4 layers (I would cut 4) is if I wanted 4 copies of the project. Or am I missing something ??

Each layer is a different shape.  I am stack cutting to get 3 - 4 separate projects and I suck at cutting one layer of 1/8 ply.

That is what I would do, possibly 4 sheets at a time. I am doing a project at the moment and using #3 Niqua blades (plain) but using one sheet as I am waiting for more wood for the rest of the projects I have. One thing I have noticed is that the speed has been turned down to fairly slow and it cuts very well.

Nice work!! With 1/8 I usually stack 4 cuz it's easier to control with the extra resistance (even if I don't need that many) -- and #1 mg are my go to blades most of the time -- That looks like one of those designed for a laser cutter so kudos for being bold enough to attempt it since some of those pieces look like they'll be a delicate process separating

It's looking beautiful, it would have taken me a month of Mondays to get this far. Well done. Great cutting !

I am usually frustrated at people who post times as they always seem to cut way faster than I do.  I thought I would put it out there for others to see.  The speed is set at about 6.

I said earlier in this thread that this looked like it would be fun.

Barb, you have now done enough to convince me that it would be fun for me and I will probably purchase the pattern and work on it in early 2021.  Thanks!

You haven't said, but I assume that the pattern designer is Charles Hand.

Frank,  This is where I purchased the patterns from.   I purchased two of them.  This one is  M001.  I have also purchased M025.   https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/apswoodshop?ref=ks_wide
