I'm not sure really of what difference between the two would be.. I will say I used to use the kraft paper bubble mailers but I switched to poly.. I thought maybe a better water resistant one.. But with the plastic bubble liner inside I'm not sure there really any better or not. Some mail delivery folks leave stuff out on a porch in the wet snow, rain etc.. so that was my reasoning on the poly.. I do have troubles at times getting labels and even tape to stick good to the poly.. so my next order I was thinking of going back to the kraft paper bubble mailers.. padding wise they are I believe the same..

I try my best within reason to use earth friendly packaging if I can.. I use the biodegradable packing peanuts when fill is needed..

i have noticed that the paper out layer  seems a bit stiffer than the poly ( comparing to a Amazon bag for a dvd )

which i think is better -maybe/maybe not

I also put a zip bag on the items and wrap a top and bottom layer of cardboard .

Havent had any problems with them -

I think a lot has to do with what brand you use.. I had been buying some very heavy poly ones in the past several years.. my supplier from ebay stopped selling them.. I searched out and found that staples had a real good price on a big box of mailers... when I received them they are paper thin and flimsy.. disappointed with them but will use them until they're gone.. SO with that said.. I think there will be a difference in quality and thickness from one brand to the next.. and quite frankly.. no matter how thick and protective they are... we can always add another layer of bubble wrap or cardboard etc etc.. to the inside of the package. While they are thin feeling.. they are quite tough.. how do I know? LOL I sealed one up with the wrong packing slip to the item in it a few weeks ago and I had to destroy the mailer to get it back open.. 😂

Just seen this story about a etsy seller.. I do most all shipping through Etsy via USPS printed labels.. But if you're using any service that etsy doesn't automatically collect the data.. By the sounds of this story.. you might want to start doing it manually, LOL This would suck for sure..

It looks to me like someone didn't read the documentation. I remember seeing this.

USPS comes to my house six days a week; they know where it is. Rarely does the shipping cost more than four dollars.

I don't ever ship FedEx. I don't know what the shipper experience is, but I sure know what it is to be on the receiving end. Bad, very bad. About half the time, they deliver to the wrong house. They leave packages in strange places. I have had them deliver packages to a house where no one lives. They had to drive down my driveway to get to it. If they mess up and claim they can't deliver the package, I have to drive clear across town and pick it up. When I get there, they don't seem to know how to find my package. It usually takes two hours or more for me to retrieve it. I'm not going to ship FedEx.
