Clayton717 Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 I was playing around pouring some more acrylic pens. The first two pens are made from scraps of resin I have left over after casting a pen. When I have resin left after a pour I will pour it into a mold to use later on in something else. In this case I took some of the thin castings of all different colors and smashed them into small pieces with a hammer and then cast the pieces in a solid color and turned into a pen. The first one is golden bronze, and the second is pearly white. The third pen I call precious metals. I mixed 3 seperate colors - copper, 24 karat gold, and silver and blended them in the mold. I used mica powders for all the colors. Quote
Dan Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Those are very cool. The first two remind me of confetti. I feel like I'm at a birthday party. I also like the third one. You are doing a great job on the casting. Dan Quote

Clayton717 Posted June 14, 2011 Author Report Posted June 14, 2011 Wow, thanks for all the great comments. Here soon I'm going to to be pouring some new blanks. I have a request for a few blanks for a couple local turners. If someone would like a couple while I'm working at it let me know. I charge 2 bucks each blank plus shipping. If there is interest I can post some of the colors I have. Quote
WolfmoonCT Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 I hope to start making my own sometime in the fall. Just need to start getting the mats to make everything. Quote
