Not good!! I agree 100%... They are supposed to "slow down" delivery times yet they are raising prices.. I would think they'd save a lot of money by getting rid of the free boxes.. I understand the free flat rate boxes.. but really? They give away pretty much those same size boxes as non-flat rate. for regular priority mail.. and they give away a ton of other shipping products.. I'm not complaining about that.. I've been using those free boxes for 4-5 years.. rumors last year was they was discontinuing these free boxes.. I stock piled my most used ones for a couple years worth. Boxes aren't super expensive though and I'd guess they get a lot better deal than I do since they bulk contract order I assume.. I just buy bulk 50 -100 at a time on sizes they don't have. Typically less around a dollar a box.. for me.. BadBob 1 Quote

I'm not surprised at all, I knew it was going to come to this sooner or later.. I merely post these things for other online sellers that don't get sales on a daily basis and try to help inform them of rate / service changes.. When I first started online selling and only really got sales during the holidays and crickets the rest of the year.. I'd get slammed with a bundle of orders in November all at once.. then realize I'm hardly making a profit because of rate changes and selling fee changes etc.. etc... I know several sellers here are on etsy as well as their own sites etc.. Many don't keep up with ecommerce type news.. Just try helping to inform others so they can adjust prices if needed. BadBob Posted March 26, 2021 Report Posted March 26, 2021 USPS has always done well for me. I use them exclusively. They pick up my packages at my door if need be, and I have never had one get lost or broken. I ship 1st class most of the time with only an occasional priority mail. I'm not too fond of their boxes because they are rarely the right size I need. If they don't fit in my mailbox, I have to schedule a pickup or take it to the post office. I pack in my boxes and put USPS-provided Priority Mail Labels on the box. My most expensive box costs me $0.71, also paid by the buyer. I include packaging costs in my pricing. I saw a lot of complaints about the proposal to get rid of the free boxes. I did a little math and decided that it didn't matter to me since I rarely use them. I shipped packages today 1st Class. It cost $3.58 and was paid for by the customer. Dan 1 Quote

kmmcrafts Posted March 28, 2021 Author Report Posted March 28, 2021 I agree, the USPS is not the only one going to raise up the prices.. Including me, Most my items will be getting a price hike within this year.. only thing that probably will shay the same price is my ornaments.. But.. the shipping price might get bumped up some. I think we are about to see EVERYTHING take a price jump soon.. some things already have. GrampaJim 1 Quote
