Ceric ME Posted April 5, 2021 Report Posted April 5, 2021 I'm gluing an image to a board and then cutting it out to make a figure. I started with Label paper for the first one. Didn't like the Matte Finish. Trying Glossy paper and gluing that to the board. I made a pin box for the gluing. I'm curious on the How that helps now that I'm thinking about it more. I couldn't find any good answers online (my Google Fu is weak.) I figure I tap the collected wisdom here. What does the Pin Box do and how does it improve the gluing? Quote

Dan Posted April 5, 2021 Report Posted April 5, 2021 I've seen them used for finishing but never gluing. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Rockytime Posted April 6, 2021 Report Posted April 6, 2021 Still not sure what it is. Did you make an actual box? What is it made of and what is it used for? Storing pins? OCtoolguy and Wilson142 1 1 Quote
jollyred Posted April 6, 2021 Report Posted April 6, 2021 The only things I can think of is the box will contain the overspray and the pins hold the pattern off the bottom so another pattern can be sprayed immediately, without it sticking to the box. Never heard of one before, either. Seems like a lot of pins just for that, though. Let us know if you use it and how (or if) it works. Tom OCtoolguy 1 Quote

Ceric ME Posted April 6, 2021 Author Report Posted April 6, 2021 This is what I use for Warhammer model spray paint. Allows me to rotate the model while spraying a foot away. Lined with wax paper and has plastic wrap to let light in. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Rockytime Posted April 6, 2021 Report Posted April 6, 2021 Had no idea this was about paint. new2woodwrk and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
Roberta Moreton Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 I have used a pin board for spray finishes. I kept getting stuck with the nails so I threw it away. I use a cardboard box with some wire hardware cloth in it for a glue spray box. I can’t get stuck with that Ceric ME and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
