Using what...Table saw? Miter saw?

A 51 degree angle is the same as its reciptical, a 39 degree angle.  Not quite sure what the cut is to look like, but usually if you are using an adjustable miter-tee on a table saw or the swing arm of a Miter saw, you will have to move the set up to the other side of the blade.

In some cases you may have to flip the work over or rotate the board 180 degrees.

A scroll saw.

The ends of the football was suppose to be 52 deg.

I settled for 45.   The ring before the end was 42deg.

I believe, setting the tilt at 39 degrees and flipping the piece over would have done it for you.  Of course this would mean attaching the pattern on the back side and it may also needed to be flipped before printing (not sure....having a hard time visualizing the piece).

Intersting scrool saw project.  Looks very nice.

I've done a similar project out of a glued up laminated block of wood but turned it on a lathe, hollowing out the center to turn it into a vase.  No longer have a lathe so no more turning for me.

I have tried that.  I thought that it would work also. Since you flip the board 180 deg it does not work. If we could turn it 90 it would work.

So if i turn the table the opposide way 38 deg, then it makes the same concentric circle. Because to get angle pointing to the center I have to cut opposite direction. Thus getting same angle.

Now that is why i asked this question.  My brain says it should be easy. But i was not able to do it.

One more note...  at 45deg it is very very very difficult to hold the board centered under blade when cutting through cross grain.  There was 4 areas of circle that the Poplar just acted like knot holes.  new blades grabbed a lot but finally did cut. At straight angles you don't think of this. The blade just grabbed and pushed wood down the table.  Amazing no blades were broke. Lots of arm pressure toward table while still turning the wood.

At greater angles (Using a jig) the problem of holding the wood will get worse to go in circles.

So the jig for extreme angles should to provide 2 functions.  1) more angle on highest part of table.  2) some bottom support for holding circle. Since there is different sizes of circles the jig would need to extend beyond the table.

I see i have reached the limit of the angled scrollsaw.

I have a couple more details to finish adding.  I will post final project in separate title.

Thanks for your answers.  I like all of the answers.

As Jollyred pointed out... I got stuck on only using scroll saw .  Yep for just the ends of the football,  the spindle / belt sander should be used.

A 6 deg angle shim can also be used on the top part of the table.
