CSull Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 I was gifted a WEN grinder and would like to put a sanding mop on it like the big kids use. The arbor measures 5/8 and from the pictures here it look likes there is a chuck people use. My question is where can I buy a chuck? Thanks in advance! OCtoolguy 1 Quote
John B Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 I would say you would have to obtain an adapter to take your 5/8" down to either 3/8 or 1/4" for a standard chuck to fit Most chucks of the size to fit 5/8" morse tapers. https://www.toolsource.com/puller-adaptors-and-parts-c-194_621_624/puller-adapter-5818-female-to-3816-male-p-61486.html CSull and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
don in brooklin on Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 I attach my Mac Mop and my sanding mop with a key less chuck that I got from https://stockroomsupply.com/products/keyless-chuck?_pos=1&_sid=11d4adb98&_ss=r Don't forget the price is in Canadian funds (20% discount). You might be able to find in USA (Try Klingspor Woodworking they list 1/2) I have both the 5/8 on a motor and the 1/2 on a grinder. Is this what you are looking for? Quote

Don, I bought one similar to that but I had to cut the threads off my grinder so the adapter would go up on the shaft far enough. Quote
CSull Posted April 4, 2022 Author Report Posted April 4, 2022 Yes that is what I need. Thank you for the info. John B 1 Quote

Grainger Hardware for sure but there may be others. McMaster-Karr comes to mind. I use mine in a portable 1/2" drill that I clamp to my work bench. I bought the mop kit that you can put on a mandrel that has a 1/4" shaft. I buy them at H/D for under $6. Ryobi I think they are. CSull 1 Quote
