Has anyone seen a pattern for one of these? My wife got this from an old man who made it but he has no pattern now.

I have seen these in one of the scroll saw magazines. Don’t know which or which issue though.

It seems like I saw some sort of combination lock in a SSWC magazine but like Dan I can't recall when/where. You might check with Steve Good.

The Lock with the key is in ScollSaw Work shop issue 46 page 40.

The combination lock you showed is in The Big Book of Wooden Lock by Tim DetWeiller

The Combination Lock is also in a book More Locks.

I found the Big book in my local library as an ebook.

 I made the Key on shown on the cover bottom right.. I  really was fun to make.. My intensions were to make each one,, Still might if I live long enough.. I would have to remake the key on,, my grandkid unlocked it and took it home... What do you do with a grandkid that did that to his own grandpa... I may have encouraged him a little..

I have purchased many books from this place... never been disappointed... had. great service.. This book has a pictorial and instructions for each step of making these locks... I would give the book 5 out of 5 stars for the way it is put together..  maybe we could benefit with a book review section in the resources area.,, maybe there is... But there are lots of scroll saw books, some good some not worth having..  might be of some value.

I could be wrong but I don't think that the above book has the 3 number combination lock as per the picture in the first picture.

I think you have to purchase either the More Locks or the Big Book of Wooden locks to get the combination lock.

Yes it is,  pictured on the back cover and is chapter 6, page 28 of the book

You know Paul, I think you are right. A Book Review Section might be a good idea.  I have lots of books I would be happy to give some info. on. Let’s tag @Travis and see what he thinks.

I've been thinking about that for awhile now.  I love books too.  I rarely cut anything from them, but for whatever reason, I can't stop collecting them!    I'm still trying to figure out how to do it, though.  I'm thinking of making a database/resource section of SSV to do reviews, but I do like your idea of having a place for other members to offer their thoughts too.  Hmmmm.

Let me know if I can do anything to help in anyway. I too have a large collection of scrolling and woodworking books.
