OCtoolguy Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 Wouldn't it make more sense to cap the lottery at $10 mil and create more rich people? LarryEA 1 Quote
Dak0ta52 Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 Take the annuity and it would be like winning the lottery every year for 30 years. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

meflick Posted November 8, 2022 Report Posted November 8, 2022 Well, if you were in CA and bought a ticket - you might want to triple check your ticket. One winning ticket was FINALLY drawn (they had a snafu apparently last night that was not fixed until this morning sometime ). The one and only winning ticket was apparently sold in CA. I didn't have a ticket for last night's drawing so I guess I don't feel too bad. But I was really hoping that there would be multiple winning tickets. I can't even imagine suddenly having that much wealth fall into my lap. Quote

That's when you immediately cancel you home phone & cell phone, buy a new, pay as you go cell. Briefly move to a hotel. First calls are to a lawyer and tax person. meflick 1 Quote
meflick Posted November 9, 2022 Report Posted November 9, 2022 Definitely want to call a meeting with a good lawyer, accountant, and investment advisor. Have those lined up, just need that winning lottery ticket. Never thought about the hotel and the phones though. Good idea. Just don’t do like the one couple a few years back who won a big one, they did not get a good lawyer. They and he flew to NYC with the ticket and appeared on the Today show BEFORE they had even claimed the prize. At the time, I believe it was one of the largest prizes ever. Still can’t believe any legitimate attorney would advise that! Quote
