barb.j.enders Posted January 1, 2023 Report Posted January 1, 2023 Well, I am joining the group of "newbie inkscaper". I have done some work in it before but my computer was very slow. Hubby got me a new computer so I no longer have that excuse. My first question, because Yes, there will be lots of those, is Can the default page set up be changed and saved? Example, when I open a new document, the page is set to A4 and px. I would like to change it to letter & inches. Travis doesn't really mention that in his lessons and I also didn't see it in the Inkscape tutorials. Quote
don in brooklin on Posted January 1, 2023 Report Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) Open any document and go to document properties. Change size and to px Mine is inches. I think that holds for all documents till you change it. If not let me know. Edited January 1, 2023 by don in brooklin on Quote
Wichman Posted January 1, 2023 Report Posted January 1, 2023 Don's pretty close. You must save the changes to a document for the changes to become the new default. From the top menu bar: File > document properties > front page > letter + inches ( pull down menu); then directly to the right:display > inches ( pull down menu ) At this point you can choose the orientation of the page. Now you need to save the changes to your document ( close the document and follow the prompts ), When you open a new document the changes should be in place. I'm using version 1.2.2 so if your version is different it might be a little different in the details. Quote
