When I did shows one of my best sellers was a Tulip outline on a dowel rod.  The ex would paint them and set up a display with a sign that said Poplar Tulips.  People would then correct me that should be Tulip Poplar (A species of Poplar tree that is wide spread in our area).  I would then tell them no they were Tulips made from Poplar.  Just a good conversation starter for fun.  We usually sold out of them and I would do 50-75 at a cutting. Band saw works great for the Tulip heads.

IMO it depends on the area.

I've noticed from reading what others are selling across the country at shows, no 2 shows are the same.

At the event we do every Saturday, there are several wood workers - We do (obviously) puzzles, wall hangers (mostly Harvey patterns but some from books and created by us as well) our biggest sellers though are our customized items, but we also do magnets and ornaments, lots of childrens puzzle they can paint themselves, Memorials, Urns, Clocks, Lamps... LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS... OH MY!

The other wood workers: 1 is a scroller who does silhouettes and portrait pieces, an artist who works with epoxy + wood and recently started copying our wall hangers. Another wood worker that works with furniture and larger items, and we just got a carving board seller, a wood turner with bowls and stuff, and 1 CNC and Laser cutters vendors - both do trademarked items and have no problem selling them and we also have a 3rd party vendor selling items from China and Asia.

So really, what does your event not have? That to me would be key.

Heck, if this doesn't work out for me I may start making and selling Salsa's, Jams, hot dogs and more LOL
