Searching for ??????

This topic has me really wondering.  I have read several comments concerning difficulty with searching in the web for something.  The search function on this site is a bit scary with all the various filters.  They are meant to help but add to confusion.  

I just type in a couple terms and then search avoiding the filters most of the time.  For example, recently I was searching for lights to use when scrolling.  I entered "magnifying light" and got 172 results.  Yes, it can be a pain going thru the results. Sometimes, there are just too many results when all we want is a simple answer.

What problems do members have with searching here or with Google?

Coming up with a word(s) for what you are searching for.  I know that "thingamajiggy" won't get much but that's what I know it as!!

I have not had problems searching here, I don't use google except for email and wouldn't use that if I could find on I like better.
