Labor Day weekend is in the books and I’m glad to say I’ve survived. I’m an exhibitor at our county fair in a building named Heritage Village (sort of like Williamsburg except crafters are representing the mid to late 1800s). For my part it’s five 10-hour days of scrolling with a treadle scrollsaw.  They allow us to sell things that we make and this year was only the 2nd year I brought some things to sell. My first year I went as an educational display showing the different types of things you can make with a scrollsaw.  Then friends who had been involved for years encouraged me to come back the following year (last year) with some things to sell.  The really gratifying part was when people came up to me this year and said they were really pleased with what they bought last year and bought or ordered something again this year.  I’m not in business and don’t want another job (enjoying retirement too much) but as a hobbyist I earned enough this year to cover materials for this year and inventory for next year.  A win/win!

Yes, that is one of the things I like about scroll sawing as well.
It allows me to continue my addiction, er, . . . hobby.
