One of the many cool things I’ve learned on SSV is that spray paint cans have marbles inside. Today I opened an empty can of flat black to find my first “twofer”. I hope when I’m gone one of my kids or grandkids will keep this bottle to remind them that, at least for part of my life, I didn’t lose my marbles.

welcome to the club!  great you should bring this up... I have never had a “twofer”!   That is special... My Grandson was here this past weekend.  He always wants to know if I have spray paint cans to shoot..  we added 5 more to my coke bottle.  He is getting to be a real good shot!  I found that if you use 77 3m achieve there is a marble also.  I get disappointed be cause many paints are using "steelies" now instead of glass marbles.  My coke bottle is one of the things my grandkids fight over, who gets it.  I Think they will have to have a shootout to find out.

I might switch to 3m just for that.  I've always used Loctite High Performance, I think because the first time I bought it, it was the cheapest at Lowes.

When my grandson said he wanted to shoot.  I have a couple pellet guns and that is what we use.  Shoot the can it flies up in the air and spins around. fun to watch.. He learns about shooting and gun safety, and has a reward.  He is getting to be a very good shot.  It is messy, paint cans spraying paint. but I have space for it and lots of fun.

Note: I use DEft lacquer mostly.  for some reason their "glossy" does not have a marble. Satin, simi-gloss do..

My son and I have done that with a 22. About time for my grandkids. I need to start saving empty cans. Us boys love to shoot and blow things up.

I use Rustoleum clear  enamel. Again because it's cheaper. The marble is a bonus.

My familyTradition,, My brothers and I got our first rifle 22mm bolt action at age 10.  FIrst razor for shaving at 14 year old, needed or not.  I gave my grandson, my 22cal when he turned 10.  Now it is almost time for the razor!!  I was raised in the country so started getting to shot at that age, My grandson not so much he lives in city.. but I think his dad will take him out once and a while where he can learn! The sad thing to me is I leaned for the main purpose of hunting.. I want my grandson to learn because it may become a necessity... lets pray not!

I think you're just jealous. I can only imagine the SWAT response if you tried this.  

 FYI my Uncle kept a bowl of marbles on his mantle so no one could say that he had lost his marbles " nope they're over there "

I used to sit on the front porch of my Granddad's place in Flagstaff and shoot my .22 in any direction I wanted. I got my first rifle at 10 yrs old. I did learn what to shoot at and how to aim for safety etc. A lot of tin cans did take it tough. That was before there were aerosols.

Paul, I think that’s because the satin & semi-gloss have particulants (to dull the sheen) that need to be mixed before spraying whereby the gloss doesn’t.

WOW!  I was thinking they did not even have tin cans yet when you were young,,,no wait, I think I an even older than you!

Nope! I'm older. And the cans came with a key attached.

Have a problem in one ear, so the Doctor ordered a MRI.
