A close friend gave me a solid block of hard rock maple [Width 7", Depth 3", AND Height 9"]and I was going to cut it into slices for multiple projects but than I decided to carve something.  I saw a picture of a "lucky piggy" and thought I would attempt carving him.  This wood was extremely hard and the last wood I would ever recommend for a carving project.   However, I persisted and completed "Little Pedro Pig"   Now, I hope he brings good luck after all this work!!!    Dick Mira

A big thank you to Judy, Paul, Dan, Peter, Larry, and RJ  for checking this project out.  Most of my carved fretwork and scrolled projects are more serious wildlife subjects but I also thought this piggy was cute.  Glad you did too!!!  I just needed something whimsical for a change.  Dick
