juvy Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone's ever had problems receiving their creative woodworks and crafts magazine? I subscribed a couple of years ago, had trouble from the beginning having to ask for the freebie that came with it .... did not receive it until 6 months later. Then I received the renewal so late I missed the last issue. This year I inquired about the May issue... they did replace it .... and two of them arrived within 3 days of each other..... now I got the August issue, but June's missing. When I asked about this I received the following reply. Frankly I'm a bit shocked.....I think they are suggesting that I'm "loosing" issues on purpose just so they have to double up? Juvy Since you received two May issues – one was your original subscription issue and one was the replacement – the Australian postal service can be the only reason for the delay. I am sorry but we can’t afford to send magazines twice to any subscriber. We will no longer be able to replace any issues or extend your subscription. I don’t want to suggest it, but maybe we need to cancel your subscription. Regards, Loretta Quote
Travis Posted June 20, 2012 Report Posted June 20, 2012 Wow. That email is a bit curt. I'm surprised they wouldn't try to look into the obvious problem. I'm sure they ship magazines overseas all the time. I'm sure there's a solution other than "we're cutting you off." Its a great magazine, so this is disappointing to hear. Quote
juvy Posted June 20, 2012 Author Report Posted June 20, 2012 As I said .... I was a bit shocked and I did write back telling her tho. This morning I received an apology and she said she was going to look into this. Sadly I can't provide her with the envelopes the doubled up magazines came in 3 weeks ago, so can't give her the information she asked for. So for now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the missing June one will still turn up. You are right.... I like the magazine and I do realize living overseas, sometimes mail does get lost. What I was upset about more then the hassle and long waits was the tone of that letter, because it made me feel like she thought I was trying to wheedle extra magazines out of her. Thanks for your reply.... made me feel better just to know it wasn't me being overly sensitive. Quote
jdbcarving Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 I had similar problems with Woodcarving Illustrated, getting a bunch of back issues, instead of going forward from the start of my subscription. they straightened it out, and were very nice about it. Her reply was not what I would call professional. Seems you would try to do something different in shipping, maybe flag issues going your way, and try maybe a different mailer? We have things called computers, that could separate by countries. I hope you have better service. Jim B Quote
