Popular Post barb.j.enders Posted November 29, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted November 29, 2024 I had a sale today and wasn't expecting too much. It was held at a senior's assisted living facility that has 85 residents. The sale was open to the public as well. No cost for the table. Traffic wasn't the greatest. There were a few "outside" family members but it was mostly the residents. It was the best sale I have had all season. Almost doubled my last event. I hope I will be back there next year. kmmcrafts Posted November 30, 2024 Report Posted November 30, 2024 My first craft show I ever did was at a senior assisted living home like this and it was the best show I ever did.. I was only a few hours as I was invited by my wife's aunt near the end of the show.. she had sold out of a lot of her stuff and invited me to come and use half her table. I was only set up on half the table and only set up for about 3 hours and I sold almost everything.. if memory serves I made just shy of $1000 in just a few hours.. LOL. They still put the show on every year but I've never went back.. keeping track of online sales and my inventory and keeping up with that I've opted to be lazy and just stay home and play in the shop while orders online come in and I don't have to pack / unpack etc.. I've thought about going back into the in person crafts shows now that the kids are grown etc.. was way too much work trying to keep track of the kiddos and manage a table. Most shows where weekend and the wife had a job at that time where she worked 2 days a week and was paid full time pay because her workplace had a lot of weekend call ins so they paid her to work every weekend for full time pay so I had to have the kids when all the craft shows were going on.. that's how I got pushed into the online gig.. barb.j.enders 1 Quote
dgman Posted November 30, 2024 Report Posted November 30, 2024 Nice job Barb! It’s true you just never know which shows will be good or not. You ever notice how Kevin always turns someone’s post around to make it about him? Fab4 and barb.j.enders 1 1 Quote
Fab4 Posted November 30, 2024 Report Posted November 30, 2024 Hi Barb: That sounds encouraging, Come this time next year, most of them will have forgotten what they bought this time and your sales should be just as good next time. Fab4 barb.j.enders and Jim McDonald 2 Quote

Was merely trying to say that I thought those senior living centers shows were pretty good places to sell but now you mention it I do see it came across that way. barb.j.enders 1 Quote

A seniors place was also my very first show. My co-workers mother was there. I was sooooo nervous. I don't remember what my sales were but it was fun! kmmcrafts 1 Quote
scrollerpete Posted November 30, 2024 Report Posted November 30, 2024 Glad you had a good return, no surprises from me because your crafts are all high quality and seniors appreciate the work barb.j.enders 1 Quote
rjweb Posted November 30, 2024 Report Posted November 30, 2024 Well maybe they don't get to go out shopping like the normal, so this is a way to shop and spend their money, RJ barb.j.enders and JTTHECLOCKMAN 2 Quote
