Dan Posted December 15, 2024 Report Posted December 15, 2024 I always wanted one of these. I hate getting out a knife and cutting board for a few slices of cheese. Walnut, maple, and mahogany. The maple and mahogany were in the scrap pile. Finished with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner. Basically mineral oil, beeswax and carnauba wax. The slicer mechanism is from Rockler. It works well. TexasDIY Posted December 15, 2024 Report Posted December 15, 2024 Looks great! Thanks for posting; I have thought about buying this kit several times but thought it might be too "cheesy"' barb.j.enders, MarieC and Dan 3 Quote
flarud Posted December 19, 2024 Report Posted December 19, 2024 I've looked at those before and almost bought the kit several times. A lot of what I saw were bad reviews on the kits. Looks pretty good! Dan 1 Quote
don in brooklin on Posted December 20, 2024 Report Posted December 20, 2024 These are great. Our club buys in bulk from cheeseslicer directly. I think 300 - 400 made and I have heard a complaint. Dan and TexasDIY 1 1 Quote
Gonzo Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) Very nice! I received one for Christmas last year and have yet to make it. Did you use a 1/4” aircraft bit to drill the deep hole? And may I ask what are the dimensions? Edited December 23, 2024 by Gonzo Dan 1 Quote

Firstly, this is where we order from https://www.cheeseslicing.com/hardware There are instructions are below. The drill is hole is long and I had to buy a drill 11 inches by 1/4. I also built a jig so you start the drill straight on a drill press and then finish with the long on.
