GR8HUNTER Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 hello all experts i need a religious pattern that would be very easy to cut for someone who never worked with SS i have the jet saw and the 1/8 or 1/4 material thanks for all the help OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Roberta Moreton Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Well, you are going to have to practice. I usually recommend using The Scroll Saw Workbook. Use 1/4” material. Look for a cross pattern on Scrollsawworkshop.com. That’s the best advice I have. OCtoolguy and JJB 2 Quote
Wichman Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 In the pattern section of this site there's a subsection "religious". There are a few simpler designs that would make good starter projects OCtoolguy 1 Quote
rafairchild2 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 (edited) OK, here's a simple one for you. A "Comfort Cross". I made mine out of 1/2 wood, so I could router the edges to make it very smooth. This is ideal for someone in a hospital, confined to a bed, etc. I made the pattern with a 1pt line, so strive to nail/split the lines and not wander off. Go slow to stay on the line. It's about accuracy, to make your cuts very smooth. Drill a 1/8" hole for the inside Heart cutout. I used a #5 Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse. My examples are Canary Wood and Butternut for the smaller. Print on 8.5 x 11 for scaling. Attached pattern and sample of finished products. Dan Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Welcome to the Village! The crosses that Richard (#rafairchild2) shared are a great start. There are many other choices in the pattern section of this site. JJB, ChelCass and OCtoolguy 3 Quote
Bill WIlson Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 Steve Good's site has a few relatively simple religious themed patterns. Worth a look, if not for this time, perhaps once you've gotten a little more practice under your belt. https://www.stevedgood.com/catalog/ OCtoolguy and ChelCass 1 1 Quote

rafairchild2 Posted March 7 Report Posted March 7 (edited) Here's another simple cross project, this time you have a few sharp corners. At first, learn to "nibble" the corner to make it sharp. Download full size and print on 8.5x11 Edited March 7 by rafairchild2 OCtoolguy, JJB and ChelCass 3 Quote
Scrappile Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 (edited) Ha, I know you from other forums. You do not need easy; you are a master. Maybe not tried a scroll saw yet, but it will be easy for you. Hope you show some of your models on this site. https://craftisian.com/projects/13054-front-end-loader Edited March 10 by Scrappile OCtoolguy, ChelCass, barb.j.enders and 2 others 3 2 Quote
