problem with Inkscape

I have made a couple of Christmas compound cutting ornaments. I make the first side, duplicate and move over and change as required in my drawing. I link them together. Duplicate and make two on the same page, so I can print 2 at a time, save paper.

 

BUT, only the first image will print, not the 2nd side to make it a compound, only the first original before I have duplicated.

I have dumped Inkscape twice, reloaded, checked settings done everything I can think of.

Anytime I do anything more than one it will not print other than the original. Is this what it is suppose to do? Or what am I doing wrong?

 

When I copy and put on a NEW page, same results, only the first images.

Can you post a pic of the pattern you're using? I use Inkscape for all my patterns and have never had that issue. If I can see what you're working with, maybe we can solve the issue. When you say you duplicate and link the two images, do you mean "UNION" or actually "LINK"?

I have had issues with Inkscape printing and the way I got around the problem was to save as PDF and then print the PDF.

 

It has always occurred when grouped items.

I have trouble printing with Inkscape too. Usually I print it to PDF. Then open the PDF and print from there.

 

I use PrimoPDF as my printer driver. After it's installed, just print like normal, but where you choose your printer, choose PrimoPDF instead to make your PDF.
