Popular Post Allen levine Posted February 22 Popular Post Report Posted February 22 Sitting here waiting on blizzard to hit Long Island I decided I needed to get back into shop so I printed out this pattern figured yeah keep me busy today but I finished it in less then an hour as I had a lot of wood planes down waiting on intarsia pattern to be delivered but it's in the hands of post office so anyone's guess to when it arrives is just that a guess up until the tracking said last night it was on time now it says delayed with nothing else Anyway Spanish cedar and walnut tung oil and it's done ChelCass, Archer, JackJones and 14 others 17 Quote

Cleveland to Detroit (destination was between Detroit and Lansing). Detroit sent it to Cheyenne WY who sent it to Denver CO then it turned around to Kansas City to Indianapolis and back to Detroit then to Lansing and finally to the PO that delivered it . Whew! Glad I didn’t have to pay Mileage on that one . Only took 10 days to make a 2 day trip. And that was without any weather issues. Edited February 23 by Millwab OCtoolguy and ChelCass 1 1 Quote

Allen levine Posted February 24 Author Report Posted February 24 Each pattern I order from intarsia .com there seems to be such problems with shipping by usps delays delays delays this new pattern I decided I'd get the digital download but it wasn't available so once again I'm at the mercy of the us post office i I don't like to bash as I have friends and nieghbors who work or worked for po but the truth is they stink with all this modern computer tracking they can't let me know when I'll get it or even if I will get it it was due here saturday now they can use blizzard as yet another excuse I love the Judy gale patterns but I guess I'll have to order hard copies 3 months in advance with hopes of getting them within 3 weeks OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Allen levine Posted February 26 Author Report Posted February 26 So I went to the po Tuesday right before they closee tje manager or supervisor or whatever she is called told me a lot of mail was delayed due to blizzard so I told her tracking had it coming first Friday then Saturday before storm and it was now 3 days past the second date with no date on tracking anymore tracking said it's in transit but didn't says where she said give me a minute went into back and I waited and waited until someone else came out and said she will find out tomorrow and guess what at noon yesterday my pattern came probably would have sat in post office for 2 weeks if I didn't say anything JackJones, OCtoolguy and barb.j.enders 2 1 Quote

Allen levine Posted February 27 Author Report Posted February 27 Since I have yet another stent surgery this week coming up and a bunch of doctors appts in March I'm going to spend the first 3 weeks of April going at this i I need to be able to move it when I get back in may because I'm attempting to build an epoxy table with hotwheels sunk into it and I've never done epoxy but waiting for warm weather since this one is massive I built a rack so anytime I need to I can unscrew the base from work table and just put it on floor used whatever I had not fine woodworking but exactly what I wanted minuses yellow highlighter to mark pieces I'll have to eventually recut OCtoolguy, barb.j.enders and JackJones 3 Quote
Allen levine Posted February 27 Author Report Posted February 27 (edited) And I need to do something with this boat anchor I'm trying to get my son here tomorrow to help me give it one more shot or this becomes land fill it's a shame as I'm sure anyone can part this out motor works fine table surface is brand new etc jist that the kid works 3 jobs and helping his dad is a priority to me but he tries and then I feel guilty because I know I'm using up his free time having trouble uploading a picture of the excalibur saw blocking my wood rack Edited February 28 by Allen levine JackJones, Roberta Moreton and OCtoolguy 3 Quote

OCtoolguy Posted February 28 Report Posted February 28 Just wait. Eventually, Amazon will take over mail delivery. Same-day service. You do nice work. I don't have the patience nor do I want the required sanding or dust. Quote
