ernie01jt Posted March 3 Report Posted March 3 I'm new to this site. I tried searching for these knob attachments, they fit over the blade clamp screws and make them easier to turn for beat up hands. thanks in advance. OCtoolguy 1 Quote

dgman Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Years ago i was given a set of metal knurled blade clamp knobs for a DeWalt and EX type saws. I tried them for a few days. They weren’t any better than the originals and actually less comfortable. I passed them on to someone else. I saw recently that www.sayco.com has some round plastic knobs that might be more comfortable. Check them out. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
rafairchild2 Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 (edited) I assume you mean one of these. They are okay, I modified a Steve Good design (RIP Steve). Unsure if the weight throws off the balance of the action though. So I made mine removeable. I slip it on, tighten (careful not to over tighten), then slide it off. GregBennett Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 rafairchild2-Is this the pattern you referred to? I was stunned to hear that Steve Good had passed. He's contributed so much to our craft. He'll be missed. Scrappile and OCtoolguy 2 Quote

GregBennett Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 I put together the Steve Good design and for these arthritic hands, it was insufficient. Somewhere on Steve's site, I found a pattern that had four arms. I have no idea where I found it, but I resized it in Word and attached it to the part that attaches it to the turning knob. I don't use is all the time, but when I do, this works. I think that this can be improved on. You could cut off one set of the knobs, but for now, this works for me. 4 legged clamp holder.docx OCtoolguy and Scrappile 1 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 I guess I will give this a try. I am having so much trouble with right hand that Been thinking maybe my scrolling days are coming to an end. Something like this may help prolong my journey. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
