I've had this wood sitting in my basement for about two years and couldn't find anything to use it for. Then I saw Jacob Fowler's pattern in the previous issue of Creative Woodworks and Crafts. The wood is soft maple and is 26" tall and 13" wide. There are 127 cuts in the big pattern and 18 in the smaller one at the top. The part at the top was my wife's idea. (I knew I kept her around for something.) Black photo matting on the back and four coats of satin lacquer.  C & C welcome.

What a truly beautiful piece of art work.  That piece of wood was made for that design and your wife's idea made the whole idea come together beautifully.  Top marks for that Dan.

Dan, that is one super cutting.  That wood was made for this owl.  Beautiful work and the wood and grain are super.  Really like it and love the small cutting at the top.  Keep that lady for more inspirations she has some great ideas.  Thank you for showing it to us.

Fantastic work Dan. Love the wood you've chosen for this pattern. Everything ties in nicely, especially your wife's idea.

Used to purchase the Creative woodworks and Crafts magazine for a few years but I haven't seen it in any of the stores lately. Is it still in production?
