I have an important photo, (for me) of my exchange student and my grand daughter, taken  in Germany a  couple of months ago. I would like t cut this for them, if possible. More of a pattern than I can make myself. If this is not a possibility, I will just print the photo and make a puzzle.

thanks for any advice and help I get on this. Will check back for a possible answer.

Yes, it is possible, no problem. I would suggest cropping it like the attached. Let me know if this will work for you and I will complete the pattern but it may take a day or two. We might even be able to crop a little closer and get rid of the tree on the right side. Let me know what you want included and what I can take out. All those trees are lots of cuts and time consuming in the pattern stage.

Hi Richard, Great photo - great story. I've had a quick look at you're image and it will take a fair bit of work considering the amount of detail in the background. I've made some basic alterations for you, but you will need to print it off and spend a little longer with a black fine tipped pen. I've kept the integrity of the facial features, so the depth of background detail is really up to you. If you struggle, give me a shout - I'm a little pushed for time at the moment, but I'll help where I can and add some more to it if you wish.

Kindest Regards & Good Luck,

Nick.

This is the neatest thing I ever seen here in ssv. so many helpers going out of their way to help unconditionally All of these patterns are not for the faint of heart ,BUT will be a fond memorabilia for the youngsters from their uncle Richard.Happy cutting ,Pack a lunch for this project! It will go fast once you start with the spiral .Best thing I ever did was tackle a project like this just to see what it takes .Now all that's behind me now. :)

you guys are amazing. but I am afraid that my talents are not honed to the point that I feel I could cut these successfully. I really like the patterns you all did, and I appreciate all of you for taking the time to make these for me. However, I really want the background but way more simplified so that I could accomplish what I am after. I don't want to hound anyone nor do i have any expectations of having anyone spend a lot of time for me on this. If any of you are able to work this in for me, and I know this is a busy time for eveyone, I would appreciate that too. I have uploaded a simple drawing of the cathederal in  hopes one might be able to simplify from it

Well, Dick I tried to simplify it as best as I could. I think it should be cuttable for you if you take your time and cut carefully. It wouldn't hurt to omit some of the cuts in the trees to simplify it a little more. If I were to cut it I would stack three 1/8 inch BB and use FD #1 Spirals at about 75% of full speed.

Good luck with it. If you do cut it (and I hope you will) I would love to see a picture of it.

Hi Dick. As Don said, it really would take more time to improve on what he's done to simplify it even more. I'd probably try what he suggested and take you're time with it. I'm pretty much full on with work, but I can have an hour on it if you really struggle. Although I've gotta say, Don's done a great job - nice work.

a really big THANK YOU  to everyone for responding to my request. I love them all and i will ddownload them all and some day when I decided to push my skills, I will make an effort to cut one of them too. DonR, you did it again.. this is just what I was hoping for. I will stack cut this and give one to each of my girls.

I truly hope that some day I too will be able to hlep one of you guys for your generousity in fullfulling my needs. I am slowly  learning to do patterns and maybe some day i will produce something that you might like to download.

Dick, You are most welcome. Over the years I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and pleasure from this forum and others so I figure the least I can do is repay the favors and pass on some of it to others.

If you begin with the most fragile areas and work away from those I don't think it will be much of a problem to cut. If you do have some breakouts chances are nobody will know since you are the only one with the pattern. Also Titebond Ultimate is your friend.

Good luck with it, I look forward to seeing the cutting.

I know this is an older post but i got rained out today and wanted something to do.  So i took a shot at this, it looked like a fun one.  I also know that you have three awesome patterns already and that you were happy with Dons.  This one will never get cut, but that happens a lot it seems.  lol.

Anyway, great patterns guys, and here is my attempt

I have one of them already cut and I will post it soon. I need to do one more and I think, just because I like originality, that I will cut my second one from Russel's pattern. Thank you Russell for completing this and posting it. It is a great pattern too.   I will send this one to my exchange student in Germany.

thanks guys  sorry about the delay in posting these photos. I was having a lot of problems getting them from my phone to the computer. finally got it. I can not begin to thank Don and Russel for all their help with this pattern.  I cut one of each adn sent one of them on it's way to Germany today. It was a little scary at some points as I was afraid it would break during cutting, but fortunately it came out just fine. I know the girls will love it as it represents a really good memory for them both
